• December 12, 2005

The visual network integration platform of Argo data is developed. The scientists from laboratory of ocean dynamics and satellite oceanography are using the platform. The other domestic or foreign Argo users also can obtain the Argo data from the platform at the web site: http://www.argo.org.cn/test/sumei/argo_data/index.htm.

• November 8-10, 2005

The Sixth Argo Data Management Meeting was held in Tokyo, Japan. At the invitation of Dr. Takashi Yoshida, Engineer Liu Zeng-hong and Zhu Bo-kang of the Second Institute of Oceanography (SOA) attended the meeting.

• October 10, 2005

Students of Academician Su Jilan from all over the world, who participated his seventy years’ birthday celebration and academic seminar, visited the China Argo Real-time Data Center, and they were all appreciated that China had joined the Argo global ocean observation plan.

• September 19-21, 2005

The APEX User Meeting was held in University of Washington, USA. Pro. Xu Jianping and Engineer Sun Zhaohui of the Second Institute of Oceanography (SOA) participated the meeting.

•  August 8, 2005

Dr. Li Zhijing from the Jet Propulsion Laboratory of National Aeronautics and Space Administration in America visited the China Argo Real-time Data Center and discussed with the center’s staff during his visit to second institute of oceanography(SOA).

• July 7-11, 2005

At the invitation of senior researcher Xu Jianping, Dr.Yu Zuojun from International Pacific Research Center (IPRC) of Hawaii University in U.S.A, visited the Second Institute of Oceanography, State Oceanic Administration, and made an academic seminar. She also introduced some progress on IPRC research to the group of China Argo Real-Time Data Center. She discussed some scientific issues on South China Sea circulation and mesoscale eddies derived from Argo drifters with young scientists.

• May 18, 2005

On academician Su Jilan’s invitation, Prof. Arnold L.Gordon from Columbia University of American visited the Second Institute of Oceanography, State Oceanic Administration, and made an academic seminar. He also discussed. the progress in global Argo plan with the group of China Argo real-time data center.

• May 12, 2005

Engineer Liu Zenghong from China Argo real-time data center made an academic seminar titled "the progress of Argo plan" for the visiting students from Hehai University and donated some documents about Argo Global Ocean Observation System (GOOS) to them, as well as some disc of history data about the global Argo float and so on.

• April 8-13, 2005

The first International Argo Delayed-Mode Quality Control Workshop was held in the Scripps Institution of Oceanography in American. Engineer Liu Zenghong of the Second Institute Of Oceanography (SOA) attended the meeting.

• March 15-17, 2005

The 247th Xiangshan Science Meeting was held in Beijing Xiangshan hotel. Predicting the Marine Environment is the subject of the meeting. About 47 experts  from 33 domestic organizations in ocean, meteorology and technology fields attended the meeting. Professor Xu Jianping, briefly introduced the progresses on the “Argo global marine observation and China Argo plan” in special issue of “Important technology in ocean environment observations”. Xu is the member of the International Argo science group, also a senior researcher of the Second Institute of Oceanography, State Oceanic Administration. In the meeting, he strongly appealed that the increasing Argo data should be extensive used in ocean and meteorology organizations.
