Abstract: PROVOR is a new type of profiling float being used in the Global ocean Observing Array—Argo. This paper gives a detailed and complete introduction to the float testing process before launching, and the steps and attentions of deploying the float on board. It is hoped this paper could provide a reference for the later large scale deploying floats.
