Abstract:In this paper，fl review of the recent advances in the W estern Pacific W arm Pool studies at home and abroad is made, and the study fields include the field surveys and physical mechanism of the warm pool, the relationship between the warm pool and ENS0 and the effect of the abnormal warm pool varia—tions on climate. Moreover, fl brief discussion on some problems with the warm pool st udies iS made.
