Abstract: The Argo project uses a number of Argo profiling floats to monitor the variablity of upper oceans of the world. The quality control of salinity data is important. The historical hydrographic relations and the method developed by Wong et al. are used to correct the drift or offset in the salinity data. Selection of the historical dataset, sliding window and mapping scale may affect the calibration results, and several experiments are made in different ocean regions to study their effects. The results show that choosing the right historical dataset, sliding window and mapping scale could improve the precision of salinity correction.
