The first Argo Science workshop of China hosted by State Key Laboratory of Satellite Ocean Environment Dynamics and Second Institute of Oceanography, State Oceanic Administration was held in Hangzhou from June 14 to 18. The 77 scientists and researchers from more than 26 institutions and organizations including 7 academicians presented this meeting.
Prof. Dake Chen, director of State Key Laboratory of Satellite Ocean Environment Dynamics presided the workshop. The 25 related papers were submitted to the meeting, and 18 of them were selected to give oral presentations. These presentations were related to (1)the progress of Argo project, (2)the application of Argo data in the ocean data assimilation and air-sea coupled model, (3)Rossby wave, mixed layer, thermocline, water-mass and circulations in the Pacific and Indian ocean, (4)Argo data quality control and Argo database construction, (5)the development of COPEX float and deep sea Glider.
