China Argo floats deployment cruises :

        As part of a research project, Study of the upper ocean structure and its variation and prediction based on the global ocean real-time observation program (Argo), 5 Argo floats were deployed from R/V Dayang 1 in the Bass Strait in the northwest Pacific Ocean from May 24 to June 12, 2008. In the 5 floats, two (80611 and 80612) take profiles of 0 – 1000m every 3 days, Float 80614 takes profile of 0 – 1000m every 10days and the other two take profiles of 0 – 2000m every 10 days. In situ CTD measurements were taken for calibration of the Argo data. The research project is jointly carried out by 10 organizations under the State Oceanic Administration, the State Meteorological Administration, the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Ministry of Education, P. R. of China.
