The project entitled “China Argo Ocean Observation Array, its data assimilation and short-term climate forecasting” headed by Prof. Xu Jianping of China Argo Real-time Data Center, member of the international Argo program and the Chief-Scientist of China Argo, was awarded the First Prize of Science and Technology of Oceanic Engineering, issued by China Association of Oceanic Engineering.

       The prize is the highest award in the field of marine engineering in China to praise organizations or persons who bring forth new ideas or make progress and have outstanding achievements in the basic research or technological development and application. All together 10 First Prizes and 19 Second Prizes were issued for the first time by the Association in March 2012.
