The project ‘The distribution and variation of thermocline and halocline over northwest Pacific’ gets funding from the special funds of the Second Institute of Oceanography, SOA. The principal of the project is Sun Chaohui, the research associate from China Argo Real-time Data Center.

The objective of the meeting is to collect the upper ocean data during 2004-2013, making full use of the Argo data and XBT,CTD data from GTSPP. It will get the  criterion of thermocline and halocline though statistic analysis, and then get the distribution and variation of main thermocline and halocline, as well as seasonal thermocline and halocline. At the same time, in order to insure the reliability of result, the project will use WOA09 dataset to test it.
