The Coordinator of the International Argo Information Center Visited China

Mr. Mathieu Belbeoch, the coordinator of the international Argo information center (AIC) , before his attendance of the 8th JCOMM observation coordination group (OCG - 8) meeting (May 22-25, 2017) , under the AIC’ suggestion and the invitation from Xu Jian-ping, a researcher of the State Key Laboratory of Satellite Ocean Environment Dynamics (SOED) and the leader of the China Argo Real-time Data Center, investigated three units which are related with the implementation of global Argo project, including the China Argo Real-time Data Center (also the Beidou Profile Floats Data Service Center) which is in charge of receiving and managing the automatic profiling float data and two domestic factories developing and producing home-made automatic floats, one is the factory of COPEX floats (the National Marine Technology Center) and another is for HM2000 floats (Qingdao Seamount Marine Equipment Co., Ltd). This investigation helped Mr. Belbeoch understand the states of China Argo project, and also give an estimation of China Argo’s implementation and the development and the future of Beidou profiling floats.
