During October-November 2017, CARDC deployed 5 HM2000 profiling floats in the western Pacific Ocean through the R/V "KEXUE" that belongs to the Institute of Oceanology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. These floats are funded by the central large scientific instrument purchase special project -"Real-time ocean autonomous profiling floats observing system".

21-28 November 2017, another 4 HM2000 profiling floats were deployed in the South China Sea from the  Coast guard vessel.
