GDCSM_Argo dataset is released at the Argo Program website

In September 2022, the GDCSM_Argo dataset developed by Shanghai Ocean University (SHOU) and China Argo Real-time Data Center (CARDC) is released at the Argo Program website (https://argo.ucsd.edu/data/argo-data-products/) , which is the second Argo product following BOA_Argo dataset that Chinese scientists developed.

The GDCSM_Argo was produced based on the post-quality-controlled global Argo observations and the gradient-dependent correlation scale method that Zhang et al. developed (https://doi.org/10.3390/jmse10050650). The elements of the dataset include water temperature, salinity, sound speed, mixed-layer depth, thermocline bottom depth, and thermocline temperature gradient, with the horizontal resolution of 1°×1°, 58 levels from the sea surface to 1975 dbar. The temporal resolution of the dataset is monthly, ranging from 2004 to 2021.

To download the GDCSM_Argo, users can anonymous login the CARDC’s FTP site (ftp://data.argo.org.cn/pub/ARGO/GDCSM/). Both NetCDF and Matlab versions of the dataset are made freely available.
