China released the first batch of domestic BEIDOU profiling floatsthe South Chin

      On September 23, 2016, with the BEIDOU profiling float slowly entering the basin waters in the middle of the South China Sea from "Scientific Experiment 1" research vessel,  South China Sea Argo regional ocean observation network" officially began.This is the first batch of domestic BEIDOU (Model HM2000) profiling floats purchased under the key project of "National Argo Real-Time Ocean Survey in the Western Pacific", which is in charge of the National Science and Technology Foundation Work under the responsibility of the Second Institute of Oceanography SOA.According to the technical staff of BEIDOU profiling floats data service center set up in Hangzhou, the floatslaid before have sent multiple profile data of 2,000 meters back according to the pre-set observation period through the BEIDOU satellite navigation system. The data were verified by the data quality control procedures stipulated by the International Argo Data Management Team (ADMT). All these observations were in accordance with the observational accuracy (temperature above 0.005 ℃ and salinity above 0.01psu) as stipulated in the international Argo plan.The first batch of temperature and salinity profile data from the Argo Regional Oceanographic Observatory in the South China Sea, obtained from the domestic BEIDOU profiling floats, have now been transmitted to the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) through the China Meteorological Administration s Global System for Communication (GTS) And international Argo program member countries to share instantly.
