SOED starts to construct Chinese BGC Argo observation network in the northwester
From August 16th to September 14th 2018, the State Key Laboratory of Satellite Ocean Environment Dynamics (SOED) successfully launched 3 BGC profiling floats in the Northwest Pacific Ocean through the R/V "TAN KAH KEE" of Xiamen University. Up to now, SOED has deployed 7 BGC-Argo floats, and nearly 150 profiles of biogeochemical elements have been obtained.

The BGC Argo program was raised under the framwork of the International Argo Program. It will be an important data source for the study of ocean acidification, anoxia and carbon cycle.

Under the scientific guidance of National Key R&D Program of China(2016YFC1401601)and National Natural Science Foundation of China(41730536),14 BBC profiling floats will be successively launched into the Northwest Pacific Ocean to form China’s regional BGC Argo observation network.
The technical team of China Argo Real-time Data Center completed the data processing module of all biogeochemical parameters by the end of July, 2018.
