From November, 2017 to February, 2018，CARDC carried out a comprehensive survey of the voyage of "The maintenance and upgrading of the submersible observation network of the Western Pacific mainstream system"，which was conducted by the R/V "Science"  from the Institute of Oceanology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. 8 autonomous profile floats were deployed in the Western Pacific Ocean, including 4 Beidou HM2000 floats, 3 Iridium APEX floats, and 1 ARVOR 4000 m deep float. In addition, the Institute of Oceanology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences also deployed 5 HM2000 profile floats using Iridium communication system.
